Speed-e

Q.1. What is SPEED-e?
Ans. SPEED-e is a facility developed by NSDL which is a common infrastructure to enable the DPs to provide Internet based services to their clients. The investors subscribing to this facility can give instructions for delivery of securities to their DPs through the SPEED-e website viz; www.speed-e.nsdl.com thus eliminating the need to submit delivery instruction forms (paper) to their DPs. Investors can submit instruction forms from their own PC with Internet connectivity or through cyber café.

Q.2. How does SPEED-e work?
Ans. The demat account-holder can submit delivery instructions electronically using SPEED-e after the DP authorises the demat account-holder to operate its account. The DP downloads these delivery instructions in batches from SPEED-e and effects the same by importing into the NSDL DP-Module (DPM). The DP regularly uploads the response from the DPM to SPEED-e so as to update the status of the delivery instructions given by the demat account-holders. The SPEED-e users can monitor the status of such delivery instructions to ensure that their instructions have been executed.

Investment Advisor

Q1. What is a Mutual Fund?
Ans. A Mutual Fund is a trust that pools the savings of a number of investors who share a common financial goal. Anybody with an investible surplus of as little as a few thousand rupees can invest in Mutual Funds. The money thus collected is then invested by the fund manager in different types of securities. These could range from shares to debentures to money market instruments, depending upon the scheme's stated objectives. Thus a Mutual Fund is the most suitable investment for the common man as it offers an opportunity to invest in a diversified, professionally managed basket of securities at a relatively low cost.
